It seems like a lifetime ago that Alex Rodriguez was on top of the baseball world batting cleanup behind Ken Griffey Jr. for the Seattle Mariners and hitting moon shots into the left-centerfield bleachers of the Kingdome. A career .299 hitter Rodriguez ranks as the youngest major leaguer to eclipse both the 500th and 600th home run plateaus. The cleats offered here are from the 2000 All-star game in which ARod was voted in by the fans but was unable to play due to a head injury. The tops of the shoes show little signs of wear aside from minor scuffing but the soles have infield dirt still visible. The Nike black and Mariner green accent shoes have the "ALL*STAR GAME 2000" patch heat pressed onto the back of the heal and the number 3 on the outside heal. The number "3 and AROD" have been embroidered onto the black tongue in the same Mariner green thread. Both cleats have been autographed by Alex on the heal and the notation "Game Used" both in silver felt tip pen and really pops against the shinny black plastic. Both signatures are crisp and clean with only a slight smudge on of the "Game Used" inscription of the left shoe. The autographs themselves would rate a 9-10/10.
