Croatian Mateo Kovačić has played for some of the biggest clubs in Europe, starting with Inter Milan (2013-15) followed by Real Madrid (2015-19), Chelsea (2019-23) and now Manchester City. Through it all, he has maintained his status as one of the most technically sound and versatile midfielders on the pitch. Offered here is an Inter Milan away shirt worn by Kovačić in a Serie A match at Cagliari on September 29, 2013. Rainy conditions resulted in a 1-1 draw as Kovačić played the entire game for Internazionale. According to the letter of provenance, the jersey was exchanged with an opposing Cagliari player after the match. It has washed post-use but still shows remnants of three mud stains on the chest that are identifiable in match footage.
Made by Nike (size L), the white short-sleeved shirt is equipped with unique air holes down the sides and ‘T’-shaped rubber shoulder details. The FCIM (Football Club Internazionale Milano) crest patch is on the left chest with kit sponsor Pirelli below in blue. The player’s last name appears across the upper back with his No. 10 below (both in blue). A sublimated washing tag inside the left front tail and the official Serie A sleeve badge are details not present on retail versions. The somewhat washed-out dirt stains make this a great photo-match candidate.
