On September 23, 1934, an international athletics (track & field) meet was held between Germany and France in Magdeburg, Germany. In men’s long jump, Luz Long placed first with a jump of 7.27 meters and was awarded this striking first place winner’s medal made of 99% silver. Here are the details.
