Presented here is a scarce on-site fight poster (23” by 33”) of Muhammad Ali vs. Karl Mildenberger from September 10 1966. This poster was produced for display on the streets of Frankfurt where Ali continued his world tour of title defenses after victories in Toronto and London. The first world heavyweight bout ever held in Germany took placeat the now defunct Walstadion in Frankfurt with Ali winning by a TKO inthe 12th round. In 1973 Ali said Mildenberger was his most difficultopponent to date. The German language poster features the bold text style of the German national aesthetic. The poster is in overall EX-MT/NM condition with light handling and a few tack holes at the corners.
