ADDENDUM: THIS IS THE ACTUAL BALL USED FOR THE FINAL OUT OF THE GAME IN WHICH WADE BOGGS COLLECTED HIS CAREER 3000 BASE HIT.
Wade Boggs signed and inscribed baseball for the final out of the August 7 1999 game in which he collected his 3000 career base hit. Boggs has signed on the sweet spot in 8-9/10 blue ball point pen with the added inscription ""LAST BALL FROM 3000 HIT GAME 8/7/99" on the panel to the right. OAL(Budig) baseball displays definite game use. Boggs became the first player ever to hit a home run for his 3000th hit.
