Red Sox fans must kick themselves every time they see highlights of Mookie Betts in a Dodgers uniform, whether he's flying around the bases, chasing down a gapper in right-center, or nailing an opponent at home with his cannon arm. The 5' 9" superstar had his breakthrough season for Boston in 2016, playing a pivotal role in the team's ascension to the top of the American League East. Batting .318 with 31 homers, 113 RBI, 122 runs and a career-high 214 hits, Betts finished runner-up in AL MVP voting and won his first Gold Glove and Silver Slugger awards.
In a home game at Fenway Park against the Arizona Diamondbacks on August 12, 2016, Betts donned this size 44 red Majestic FlexBase button-down jersey. He went hitless in four at-bats that evening, but two days later Mookie went 4-for-6 with three home runs and 8 RBI vs. the D-Backs. The front of this Red Sox jersey is adorned with "RED SOX" embroidered in red and navy blue tackle twill. A navy blue and white tackle twill rendition of his number, "50", graces the back of the jersey. The jersey, which features a Majestic tag screen-printed on the lower left front tail, also has an additional bar code tag from Majestic, reading "#50 BETTS 2016 44", screen-printed on the inside. The jersey's sides are of a matching red mesh fabric, and a vinyl patch of the MLB logo, in red, white, and navy blue, is stitched onto the back neck. Displaying evidence of moderate wear, this jersey is accompanied by a MLB Authentication hologram (JB762396) confirming its date of use.
