Kevin Durant was selected #2 overall in the 2007 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics. In retrospect, the Portland Trail Blazers sure wish they would have taken the one-and-done prodigy out of the University of Texas instead of drafting Greg Oden with their first pick. KD went on to win the NBA Rookie of the Year in his debut season at just 19 years old. Oden, meanwhile, could never stay healthy and flamed out of the league within a few years.

A 24-year-old Durant sported these Nike 'KD6' sneakers during his summer training before the 2013-14 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, a campaign that saw KD win his only league MVP. In a brief but famous Drew League appearance on July 28, 2013, the "Durantula" dropped 35 points and grabbed 17 rebounds, gathering oohs and ahhs from the young crowd on hand to witness this performance at King Drew High School in Los Angeles. Started in 1973, the Drew League is essentially the west coast's version of Rucker Park in Harlem, attracting a number of high-profile NBA players and legendary streetballers. 2013 marked the first year the tournament was sponsored by Nike. A video of KD crossing over an opponent and throwing down a thunderous dunk in these neon sneakers went viral and is all over the internet. Unfortunately, we found no still shots, making a conclusive photo-match highly unlikely.

This pair was consigned by a Hollywood actor who was there in attendance with his young daughter to watch the 2013 Drew League. After the game, Durant gifted his 7/28/13 Drew League shoes to her and signed them in person. A huge basketball fan and talented adolescent player, she would go on to play at a top D-1 college program.

These gargantuan Nike 'KD6' PE low-top sneakers come in neon yellow/green with fluorescent orange Swoosh logos, accents and laces, making them easily recognizable. His unique "kd" logo in orange appears on both outer ankles. Internal Nike tagging indicates size 18 and is properly labeled "Promo Sample" and "Season FA13" with a "20130507" manufacturing date. Durant has signed the outer toes in black marker (the girl's name is inscribed on the right shoe). The shoes show definitive signs of use with contact marks on the toes and stretch/crease marks on the yellow midsoles. Autographs certified by PSA/DNA.
