On July 22nd, 2010, Alex Rodriguez was tantalizingly close to joining the prestigious 600 Home Run Club. He participated in a tied game against the Kansas Royals at Yankee Stadium, and as the stakes rose in the seventh inning, he managed to edge even closer to the milestone. Rodriguez hit his 599th career home run, a shot over the right center field wall, after connecting with a pitch from Robinson Tejeda. The Louisville Slugger C271L model bat wielded by Rodriguez during this significant moment is a testament to the game. This bat, used by Rodriguez to hit his 599th career home run and secure a lead, exhibits signs of moderate use from the game, yet remains unbroken. The bat's barrel bears the marks of the game in the form of ball impacts and cleat scratches. It also showcases a layer of pine tar on its lower handle. The knob of the bat is stamped with the date "2/4/2010" and the specifications "34/32oz", representing its manufacture date, length, and weight. On the barrel, in a striking silver marker, Rodriguez has autographed his name and inscribed "game used Career HR #599 7/22/2010".This bat is not only a remarkable piece of Rodriguez's gaming history, but it has also been authenticated as the very instrument used to hit a milestone home run. An MLB Authenticated hologram (FJ095763) confirms that Rodriguez used this bat for his 599th career home run against Robinson Tejeda on July 22nd, 2010. Additionally, a Letter Of Authenticity (LOA) from Alex Rodriguez, bearing "Alex Rodriguez 13" holograms on the top barrel and the LOA with the ID #6792. Also accompanying this bat is a PSA/DNA GU 10 LOA for game use from John Taube. An incredible keepsake for any sophisticated bat collection.
