Tony Conigliaro is one of the more stellar players in the lengthy history of the Boston Red Sox. In fact, the 1965 American League home run leader and 1967 All Star is a member of the Red Sox Hall of Fame. He made a triumphant return to the big leagues in 1969, a year after getting hit by a pitch in the left cheekbone and sustaining a linear fracture of the left cheekbone and a dislocated jaw with severe damage to his left retina. He earned Comeback Player of the Year for his miraculous return.
Offered is a game used baseball signed by Conigliaro in bold blue ballpoint. It is tough to find Conigliaro single-signed baseballs, especially one like this used during his playing days and after his comeback. This particular ball was used in action when Boston played Cleveland on July 11, 1970. The ball is accompanied by a full LOA from PSA/DNA for the autograph.
