Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Don Drysdale was an eight-time National League All-Star selection during his 14-year MLB career. But it would take until his seventh appearance in the annual Mid-Summer Classic for him to nail down his first All-Star Game decision. In that seasons extra-inning game which was played at Anaheim Stadium on July 11 1967 Drysdale pitched two innings worth of scoreless baseball in the 13th and 14th frames and struck out two to earn his first victory (2-1) in the All-Star Game.

This lot features a game-used baseball from that memorable win. The heavily toned OAL (Cronin) baseball shows game use and is clearly marked in slightly faded blue ink on one of the side panels with the following text: 1st All Star Game Win N.L. 2 - A.L. 1 Anaheim Calif. July 11 1967. Drysdale who was the pitcher of record entering the top half of the 15th inning earned the decision by virtue of Tony Prezs one-out home run off of A.L. pitcher Catfish Hunter who was then in his fifth inning of relief. New York Mets 22-year-old rookie Tom Seaver earned the save by keeping the A.L. at bay in the bottom of the 15th inning. This baseball truly represents a remarkable game-used keepsake from one of Drysdales most satisfying wins of his prolific baseball career.

Includes LOA from the Drysdale Family.
