Presented in this lot is a Los Angeles Lakers alternate warm up issued to and worn by Kobe Bryant during the 2003-2004 NBA season, the 2004 NBA playoffs, and the 2004 NBA finals. Warm up is a white Dri-Fit sleeveless pullover made by Nike. The Lakers logo in purple with gold stitching is sewn to the front of the shirt, and the Lakers "L" logo patch in purple and gold is sewn to the back right tail. The NBA Finals patch is sewn to the front left shoulder, and the NBA logo is embroidered on the front right shoulder. The arm holes are trimmed in gold and purple. This sleeveless warm up matches our templates in terms of design, style, cut, and colors for the 2003-2004 home alternate warm up.

 

Sports Investors was able to conclusively photomatch this warm up being worn by Kobe Bryant during the regular season on December 21, 2003; during the playoffs on May 9, 2004; and during the finals on June 6, 2004. During these 3 games, Kobe had 57 points, 16 rebounds, 14 assists, 6 steals, and 2 blocks.

 

A Nike Team size XXL manufacturer tag is sewn to the inside of the collar and on the front left tail of the jersey. The player's number "8" is handwritten on the tail manufacturer tag in black marker. The Nike Swoosh in purple is embroidered on the front of the jersey. All tagging matches other exemplars on file, and sizing is reasonable for Kobe during this season.

The warm up shows evidence of laundering and wear, to what would be expected of a warm up worn throughout a season. The tagging exhibits puckering; there is light staining throughout the shirt, a few loose threads, and the handwritten "8" has faded from repeated washing. Overall, the warm up is in excellent condition. 

The warm up shirt in review is properly tagged and lettered. It is consistent with known exemplars, exhibits wear, and has been photo matched. Therefore, it is the considered opinion of Sports Investors Authentication that this warm up is genuine and was worn by Kobe Bryant during the 2003-2004 NBA season, the 2004 NBA playoffs, and the 2004 NBA Finals.
