Game 6 of the 1998 NBA Finals took place on June 14, 1998, an iconic game that had Michael Jordan's best highlight ever. With under ten seconds remaining, the Chicago Bulls were trailing the Utah Jazz 85-86. Jordan crossed over Bryon Russell and swished a jumper from the elbow to put the Bulls up 87-86 with 5.6 seconds left on the clock. That would be the final score, giving the Bulls their 6th championship in eight years. Nearly every notable list of MJ's greatest career moments ranks "The Last Shot" #1. ESPN, Sporting News, USA Today, NBA, and the list goes on.
Offered is a cropped down Type 1 photograph of this legendary moment. This glorious image boasts the best of the four camera angles, captured by photographer Mike Proebsting. No other image captures the exact moment the ball goes through the net as the clock reads 5.6 seconds with Jordan's famous follow-through pose now synonymous with the moment. Posters, statues, and action figures of MJ in this exact pose have been made in the years that followed.
The image frozen in time is cropped down a tad compared to other full size copies we've sold in the past but remains crisp with incredible details visible. You can make out the agony on the faces of the Delta Center crowd in Utah as the life is sucked out of the building and the moment is immortalized as the best in Jordan's laundry list of career highlights.
The size of this cropped version is 7 x 10 and we'd dub this a budget friendly version of the original full copies that exist and have sold for over $30,000 each time they've come to market.
Estimate: $10,000+
