In just his third season in the majors, Mike Trout had firmly established himself as the most exciting player in the game. Equally powerful at the plate as he was fast on the bases, Trout won the Rookie of the Year Award and narrowly missed two MVP Awards in 2012 and 2013. Mike Trout used this bat during the May 5, 2013, game against Baltimore in Anaheim. Trout would go on to hit .323 with 27 home runs for the year while leading the AL in runs scored and walks.
The Old Hickory gamer shows excellent use and had a handle crack that was repaired by bat expert John Taube of PSA/DNA. Cleat marks can be seen on the barrel, as well as blue bat rack streaks and an impression from a batting donut. The handle end has been taped in Trout’s trademark manner and a moderate coat of pine tar applied to enhance his grip. The Angels star has signed the barrel in striking silver marker and added the inscription "Single 5/5/13."
An MLB Authentication hologram is affixed to the barrel and covers the use and signed "MLAM SIGNING EVENT". Also accompanied by a PSA/DNA LOA for the use that deemed it a near-perfect GU 9.
