This is a superb jersey from one of the key performers on the great Cardinals ball clubs of the last decade a game-worn home jersey from Memorial Day this year the unique camouflage style that honors the millions of United States veterans for their service to their country. The jerseys are part of an MLB program that funnels all of the proceeds from the initial sales to a Welcome Back Veterans Fund charity. Worn by seven-time All-Star and lifetime .307 hitter Matt Holliday the jersey takes the added significance connected with a man seemingly headed to Cooperstown by virtue of a sterling 12-year career that includes more than 2000 hits and 275 home runs and a well-deserved reputation as a stalwart member of arguably the most successful franchise in Major League Baseball. The jersey sports the U.S. Marine Corps camouflage twill that is incorporated into the iconic Cardinals bird and bat logo across the front his No. 7 front and back and on his name across the back shoulders with each element bordered in elegant Cardinal red embroidery. The Size 50 jersey has the appropriate Majestic tagging on the front left tail along with a Cool Base adjacent tag and washing instructions labeling on the inside of the tail. The Major League Baseball Official Authentication hologram appears above the Majestic tag with data base information connecting to the May 25 Memorial Day game against the Diamondbacks that produced an extra-innings 2-1 victory for the Cardinals and a 2-for-5 performance by Holliday. Shirt has the embroidered Majestic logo on the left sleeve directly beneath the circular embroidered OT commemorative patch for former teammate Oscar Taveras who died in an automobile crash the previous October. The silver-and-gold embroidered MLB logo patch appears at the back of the collar. Shirt shows considerable game use including extensive dirt staining on shoulders and sleeves and is in simply outstanding overall condition with no indications of alterations of any fashion. The jersey is authenticated by the MLB program and is also photo matched to an 8-by-10 color photo of Holliday from that 2015 Memorial Day game.MLB Authentication #HZ 409799.
