Offered here is a pair of game-worn Converse Cons ERX 300 sneakers worn by Isiah Thomas during the 1989 Eastern Conference Finals, Game 1, played May 21, 1989, a series the Pistons would win en route to their first NBA Championship, a title they clinched with a sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers in the Finals.
The shoes are rendered in Detroit's signature white, blue, and red colorway, with the "PISTONS" script along the heel, star-and-chevron Converse branding on the lateral and medial panels, and the classic "CONS" wordmark on the gum outsole. Both shoes show honest, game-used wear consistent with high-level competition: creasing across the toe box, scuffing along the outsole and midsole, and soiling throughout from floor contact, all indicative of extended on-court use during a physically demanding playoff series.
Photomatching was conducted by RAI PhotoMatching, a recognized authority in the authentication space, which compared this pair against photographic imagery from the May 21, 1989 contest, matching wear patterns, scuffing, and other unique characteristics unique to this pair. The shoes come accompanied by a corresponding RAI PhotoMatching Letter of Authenticity.
Isiah Thomas is one of the most decorated guards in NBA history, a two-time champion, twelve-time All-Star, and Hall of Famer whose leadership defined the "Bad Boys" Pistons era. Game-worn, photomatched artifacts tied directly to a championship playoff run represent the highest tier of collectibility for Thomas material, offering collectors a tangible, documented connection to one of the great dynasties of the late 1980s NBA.
