Capturing an important moment in sports history, this full unused ticket hails from LeBron James' last high school basketball game with St. Vincent-St. Mary as they competed for the 2003 Ohio Division II State Championship. His final game took place on March 22, 2003, at the Value City Arena in Columbus, home to the Ohio State Buckeyes men's and women's basketball teams. On that memorable day, the 18-year-old phenom showcased his extraordinary talent with 25 points and 11 rebounds, leading the Fighting Irish of SVSM to a narrow 40-36 victory over Kettering Archbishop Alter for the team's third state title in LeBron's four years of high school. "The Chosen One" added two assists, two blocks and a steal, solidifying his reputation as a dominant two-way player on the court.
This ticket, priced at $7.00 in 2003, represents the final emergence from scholastic to global icon of the man who many consider the greatest basketball player of all time. A grand total of 18 fulls have been authenticated by PSA. What catapults this example from its contemporaries, however, is that young LBJ autographed it, making this the only known signed version to exist. In fact, there are no signed stubs from LeBron's final game either.
The well-preserved ticket is graded EX-MT 6 by PSA. Its evenly perforated edges, nice corners, bright colors, bold print, and smooth, crease-free surface warrant an even better rating in our book. LeBron signed it vertically in black marker, which PSA/DNA has given an 8 auto grade. The reverse is also clean and has a UDA hologram sticker (BAM100545) which shows up in the Upper Deck database. Please note that the fuzziness appearing in the back image is only from wear and scratch marks on the external holder; there are no condition issues on the back of this ticket. For ticket collectors, this is must-have and perhaps the only opportunity to procure such a significant early memento from King James' glorious career.
