The Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays entered Game 5 of the 2020 World Series knotted at two games apiece. Clayton Kershaw outpitched his future teammate Tyler Glasnow, and the Dodgers went up 4-2 in the top of the fifth inning. That remained the score going to the bottom of the ninth when Dodgers closer Blake Treinen entered the game to save it. That was when this baseball was used. With one out in the inning, Joey Wendle flew out to centerfielder Cody Bellinger for out number two. Treinen struck out the next batter, Willy Adames, to end it and give the Dodgers a decisive 3-2 series lead. They would close out the series in Game 6.
