The 2018 Washington Capitals season marked the franchise's 43rd year in existence. The team finished the regular season with 105 points, winning the Metropolitan Division for the third year in a row. In the Stanley Cup Playoffs, the Caps went down 2-0 in the first-round series against the Columbus Blue Jackets before taking the next four games to advance to the conference semifinals against the two-time defending Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins. The Capitals defeated the Penguins in six games to advance the Eastern Conference Finals. The team then defeated the Tampa Bay Lightning in the Eastern Conference Finals in a tightly contested seven-game series to earn their first trip to the Stanley Cup Finals since 1998.Offered here is a Washington Capitals 2018 Stanley Cup Championship ring. The Capitals defeated the first-year Vegas Golden Knights in five games to capture the team's first-ever Stanley Cup. Alexander Ovechkin was awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the MVP of the playoffs. The 14-karat white and yellow gold ring features 230 round diamonds, 22 princess-cut diamonds, 28 taper-cut rubies, seven star-shaped rubies and a star-shaped sapphire. The top of the ring features the Capitals' wordmark surrounded by 27 pav-set diamonds and is encircled by 28 taper-cut rubies. One shank features the name "BOE" above above a 14-karat white gold Capitol building flanked by a star-shaped ruby and star-shaped sapphire. The other shank features "2018," set with 26 diamonds, the Stanley Cup, set with 20 diamonds, and a star-shaped ruby on the trophy to represent Washingtons first championship. Two additional star-shaped rubies flank the Stanley Cup and represent the Capitals' two Eastern Conference championships. The ring size is 10 and it weighs 64 grams.
