The generous window displays Jefferson's distinctive "Th: Jefferson" signature in rich period ink on aged laid paper. Remarkably, the cut retains a line of period script reading "...of the Independence of...," language that echoes the dating formula found on official documents of his presidency (for example, "in the year of the Independence of the United States"). Few cut signatures can boast such a fitting phrase alongside Jefferson's autograph.

The bronze-accented design pairs the cut with an engraved-style portrait and the descriptor "3rd President of the United States," with a foil "1/1" serial number at lower right.
