Nice set of Carlos Correa's 2015 game worn cleats batting gloves and wristband fresh off being named American League Rookie of the Year. At the beginning of the season the Houston Astros may not have foreseen a scenario in which they would feel inclined to promote their young highly touted 6'4" shortstop (drafted #1 overall in the 2012) to the Big Leagues. Yet after a a solid April and May that put them in front in the American League West management decided to make the call. Correa debuted on June 8 2015 and in his second game he hit a home run and stole a base. The stage was definitely not too big for the 20-year-old Puerto Rican. He continued the onslaught to the tune of an impressive .279/.345/.512 slash line with 14 HR 68 RBI 52 runs and 14 SB all while handling the toughest position on the field like a veteran. His physical presence and natural talent is reminiscent of a young A-Rod. The Astros went from 70-92 in 2014 to 86-76 in 2015 earning a Wild Card berth in the playoffs. Correa was a major reason for the turnaround and he'll be a fixture with their squad for years to come.

First we have Correa's pair of black and orange Nike cleats in size 13. The "HUARACHE" style is stamped on the tongues which are secured by a Velcro "NIKE" strap for ankle support. They show excellent wear with an obvious dusting of dirt on the toes and a solid layer of dirt on the bottom. Original orange laces are intact as are all the metal spikes. Correa has signed the toe area of the right shoe in thick black Sharpie with his number "1" and "G/U 2015". The same "G/U 2015" inscription in matching pen appears on the left shoe. Correa's No. "1" is also marked on both heels. Correa's black and orange Nike "MVP" model batting gloves show ample game use and both are signed and inscribed on the wrists. His black Nike "1" wristband shows light use and is not signed. Awesome group of items from the 2015 AL ROY who looks to be a perennial All-Star for the next decade and beyond.
