Cubs slugger Anthony Rizzo was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the sixth round of the 2007 MLB Draft and became a top minor league prospect in the Red Sox organization. He was traded to the San Diego Padres after the 2010 season along with three other prospects in exchange for All-Star first baseman Adrian Gonzalez. After being traded to the Cubs in 2012 he emerged into an All-Star player and fan favorite.
The offered bat was used by Rizzo during his breakout 2015 season in which he posted a line of .278 31 HR and 101 RBI and earned a fourth place finish in NL MVP voting. The Marucci Rizz Custom Cut-M model bat is un-cracked and shows evidence of outstanding game use. Rizzo's number "44" is stamped into the knob end as well as 07/21/15 manufacturing date and length and weight notations (34.5 inch 32.3 ounces). Lizard skin grip covers the lower handle. Rizzo has signed the barrel and added 2015 Game Used inscription.
Includes Rizzo signed COA and MLB hologram on barrel (HZ 979129) for auto. Pre-certified by PSA/DNA (auto.).
