In 2014, 22-year-old Mike Trout of the L.A. Angels of Anaheim turned in a remarkable batting campaign, one in which he hit .287, smacked 36 home runs, scored 111 runs and collected 113 runs batted in. It was a season to remember, and Trout collected the first of his three American League MVP awards. This lot features a game-used and autographed bat from Trout’s awe-inspiring season.
Measuring 33.5 inches long, the two-tone (black and natural) Mike Trout Old Hickory maple bat (model number MT27*) exhibits outstanding evidence of excellent use, with several ball marks and stitch impressions visible on the left and back barrel. Cleat marks can be seen on the left and back barrel, as well as an impression from a weighted batting donut. The lower handle has been taped in a spiral pattern to enhance the grip. The bat reflects a heavy coat of pine tar on the upper handle. The barrel has been signed in bold silver marker between the branding and the stamping of Trout’s name.
Includes an LOA from PSA/DNA giving it a perfect GU 10, as well as an additional PSA/DNA letter for the autograph.
