It was 2005 when Sidney Crosby an 18-year-old baby-faced rookie from Nova Scotia was drafted by the Pittsburgh Penguins and immediately took the hockey world by storm. In 9 years the superstar once called "The Next One" and "Sid the Kid" has won the 2009 Stanley Cup for his Pens and two Olympic gold medals for his beloved Team Canada (2010 & 14). Even more impressive is how he has cleaned up the individual NHL honors with two Hart Memorial trophies (MVP) three Ted Lindsay awards (Most Outstanding Player) two Art Ross trophies (most points) and one Maurice Richard trophy (most goals) all while enduring a horrific year-long battle with post-concussion syndrome that essentially wiped out his entire 2010-11 season. Presented here is Crosbys 2014-15 game-worn road white jersey with impeccable team provenance plus indisputable game-use certification from the NHLs state-of-the-art JerseyTRAK technology. Imbedded inside this jersey is a tamper-free RFID chip that automatically dates and timestamps the jersey whenever it is worn. JerseyTRAK has traced the jersey to 15 road games during the 2014-15 season.
The front of the white gamer with black and gold sleeves has the captain's "C" on the upper left chest above the Penguins team logo crest. The back has "CROSBY" on a white nameplate above his number "87" which also adorns each shoulder. All lettering and numbers are black outlined in Penguins gold. The manufacturers Reebok size "56" label appears inside the back collar. Inside the rear tail holds the Penguins unique "Pro Knitwear" label stating "2014-2014 Set 1 Game Jersey of the Pittsburgh Penguins" and "Head Equipment Manager: Dana Heinze PH#W14150572." The mesh fabric shows solid wear throughout highlighted by four team repairs in the gold sleeve sections (three right one left). The front has some faded black contact marks below the team logo crest. There is little fraying or pilling and the back is clean other than a reddish spot to the right of the "7". The jersey smells as if it has been laundered. Rare chance to own an exquisite gamer from the greatest hockey player of the post-Gretzky generation.
Includes a Penguins Letter of Authenticity signed by the VP of Marketing and the Equipment Manager. Also comes with a full JerseyTRAK report that charts all 15 games worn plus a Gleason Technology LOA that describes their microchip data processthe greatest advancement in verifying game-worn jerseys today.
