ADDENDUM: New details added regarding photo-matched games.
Offered here is an awesome pair of 2014-15 Russell Westbrook game worn and dual-signed Air Jordan XXXI ‘MVP’ signature model shoes photo-matched to multiple games. The gray-bodied signature model Air Jordans have been signed across the logo on the outer panel of each shoe in bold, black permanent marker. Westbrook’s patented phrase mass-marketed by Nike, “Why Not?”, is also featured on the toe of each shoe, presumably written in Russ' hand prior to wearing them on the court. The size 14.5 sneakers remain in excellent condition. The inside tagging of the shoe reads “SEASON: HO14” denoting when the shoes were manufactured.
Westbrook appeared in his fourth All-Star Game during the 2014-15 season and won his first of two NBA scoring titles, averaging 28.1 points, 8.6 assists and 7.3 rebounds per game for the 45-37 Oklahoma City Thunder. Based on the locations of the inscriptions, these shoes can be matched to the following four road games:
1/18 at Magic -- 17 points, 6 assists, 1 rebound, 1 steal & 1 block in 127-99 win (24 min.)
1/20 at Heat -- 19 points, 6 assists, 10 reb. & 4 steals in 94-86 win
1/21 at Wizards -- 32 points, 8 assists, 8 reb. & 1 steal in 105-103 OT win
1/23 at Hawks -- 22 points, 11 assists, 3 reb. & 3 steals in 103-93 loss
This lot is accompanied by a Beckett COA for each autograph (Cert. #: T71111, T71112) as well as a letter of provenance from a former Knicks Ball Boy (physical copy to be included with shoes). Also included is a Letter of Opinion from Resolution Photomatching documenting game images from 1/18/2015, 1/20/15,1/21/15 and 1/23/15 as "probable photomatches" based on "the alignment of the handwritten inscriptions with the patterns on the front of both shoes appearing to be the same...The determinations of probable photomatches were made for the right shoe to 1/18/15, the left shoe to 1/21/15 and 1/23/15, and both shoes to 1/20/15. We believe it is likely that both shoes were worn together on all of these dates." Due to the dark gray colorways with their corduroy-like pattern making side-by-side comparisons difficult, Resolution was not comfortable calling the match 100% "conclusive." However, in our opinion, there is plenty of evidence to call these conclusive matches.
