Nice pair of 2013 game-used bats from All-Star first baseman Justin Morneau a year in which the Canadian slugger transitioned from the Minnesota Twins to the Pittsburgh Pirates. Both bats have similar tape jobs on the handle and are heavily coated with pine tar on the upper handle.
1) BWP Professional Model 243 game-used and autographed maple bat. Knob stamped with 5 and marked 32.7 in black for its weight in ounces. Length is 35 inches. Bat remains uncracked and shows heavy game use with several large ball contact and blue bat rack marks and on barrel. Morneau has signed the barrel in 8-9/10 silver paint pen. Comes with SportsMemorabilia.com COA card (243744) JSA COA card (cert# D3444) for the autograph.
2) BWP Professional Model JM33 game-used and cracked maple bat. Knob stamped 6-6-13 on side to mark manufacturing date. 32.7 marked in silver on hollowed out end for its weight in ounces. Length is 35 inches. Bat has significant splintered handle crack and shows solid game use with ball contact marks on barrel. Two MLB Authentication holograms (EK 703497 and EK 703498) attest to Morneau breaking the bat Sept. 12 2013 off Cubs pitcher Christopher Rusin. The day before he had four hits against the Texas Rangers using what appears to be the same bat according to game photos. Also includes Pittsburgh Pirates Auction certificate.
Signed bat pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
