On their way to the 2013 World Series title the Boston Red Sox had to first dispose of the stingy Tampa Bay Rays in their best-of-five ALDS battle. The Sox wound up winning the series three games to one but it wasnt without its harrowing moments. In Game 2 the Red Sox won a 7-4 contest to go up 2-0 in the series. In Game 3 the Rays came back and scored a 5-4 victory before falling in game 4 3-1. This lot features a game-worn jersey from Game 2 and a game-used bat from game 3 from then-Rays second baseman Ben Zobrist in that hotly contested series. The size 48 100% polyester Authentic Majestic jersey shows good game wear with noticeable puckering around the letters and numbers. The team name RAYS adorns the front of the jersey in navy blue tackle twill letters outlined in light blue and white. Players last name ZOBRIST is arched across the back in blue letters on a gray nameplate while his uniform number is also in navy blue tackle twill outlined in white. The bat a 34-inch Ben Zobrist professional model (F165) Louisville Slugger shows incredible game use with a 12-inch crack in the handle. Zobrist went 1-for-4 that night to help the Rays draw closer. A great deal of pine tar exists throughout the handle with Zobrist's uniform number "18" in black on the bat knob.
