The equestrian events at the 2012 Olympic Summer Games in London were held from July 28 to August 9 at Greenwich Park. Medals were awarded in three disciplines for both individual and team competitions. Great Britain was the most successful nation topping the medal table with three golds and five total medals. They were particularly dominant in team events taking two gold medals and a silver. This lovely purple rosette award ribbon was presented to a silver medal-winning horse during the medal podium ceremony. The triple-layered rosette (6" in diameter) has the 2012 London Games logo at center in silver with two 12" long purple ribbons - the top stamped "London 2012." Overall it presents in NM-MT condition with a couple wrinkles in the ribbon that can be flattened out. Rosette award ribbons are very rare finds in the hobby. The actual equestrian event for which it was awarded is unknown.
