In 2012 Giants catcher Buster Posey won the National League Most Valuable Player award adding to his previous honors as the 2010 Rookie of the Year and 2012 Comeback Player of the Year. He became the first catcher to win the MVP award since Johnny Bench in 1972. Posey set career highs with a .336 average 24 homers and 103 RBIs for the eventual World Series champion Giants.

From that memorable 2012 season comes this impressive 34.25-inch 33.2-ounce Louisville Slugger M9 #P165 Buster Posey professional model bat. The weapon features a cupped end is uncracked and exhibits evidence of heavy use. Many ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the right left and back barrel. Ball marks include blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs. Black shoe polish cleat marks are visible on the right and back barrel and there is a moderate coat of Mota Stick on the handle. The mark visible on the handle identifies the face grain of the bat. This is a mandatory marking per Major League Baseball for all maple bats since January 2009. The date of manufacture (03119112) length (34.0) and weight (32.0) are stamped into the knob. Also visible on the knob is "VM" (Vacuum Maple) and "LDM" (Low Density Maple). A Buster Posey signature his number "28" and the added inscription "GU 12 12 NL MVP" are written on the front barrel in black marker. A great piece of memorabilia from one of the greatest individual National League seasons in recent memory.

Includes LOA from John Taube of PSA/DNA (GU10).

Pre-certified by PSA/DNA.
