2012 saw the Pirates five-tool phenom Andrew McCutchen lead the NL in hits (190) and post career highs in HR (31) and RBI (96). He won the National League Silver Slugger and Gold Glove awards and finished 3rd in the MVP voting in what was his best statistical season to date. This Marucci model 'McCutchen Custom Cut' professional model bat exhibits evidence of excellent use with a handle crack. Several ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the left and back barrel. Ball marks include blue ink transfers and white leather scuffs on the left and back barrel. Cleat impressions can be seen on the right barrel. There is a moderate coat of pine tar on the handle. The mark visible on the knob identifies the face grain of the bat. This is a mandatory marking per Major League Baseball for all maple bats since January 2009. The date of manufacture (1/31/12) McCutchen's number (22) length (4) and weight (1.0) are stamped into the knob.
