Mike Trout used this remarkable bat as he transitioned from the minors to the majors in 2011. Trout started the season with the Arkansas Travelers where he batted a sweet .324 in 75 games. An injury to Los Angeles Angels outfielder Peter Bourjos in July opened the door for Mike Trout to get the call to The Show. Trout played in a dozen games before he was sent back to the Travelers, but he returned to the majors for good in mid-August. Mike Trout would be named Rookie of the Year the following season and win the AL MVP Award three times — and runner-up four other years! A great pre-rookie bat from a sure first ballot Hall of Famer. The Old Hickory J143 Pro Model bat shows good game use. The barrel shows several ball marks and white leather scuffs. There are abrasions from contact with other equipment throughout. The knob end has been taped in a spiral pattern and a coat of pine tar applied in Mike Trout’s signature style. The bat comes with a LOA from PSA/DNA and has been graded a near-perfect GU 9.5.
