Superstar slugger Matt Kemp had a season to remember in 2011. Playing in center field for the Los Angeles Dodgers Kemp wielded a big bat as he clubbed 39 home runs drove in 126 runs and scored 115 times. He also posted his career high in stolen bases with 40 swipes. Following the season Kemp finished second to Milwaukee's Ryan Braun in a tight race for National League MVP honors. This lot features Kemps 2011 Los Angeles Dodgers Rawlings Big Stick professional model (A8098) game-used bat from that memorable campaign. The 34.5-inch bat shows considerable game usage with multiple contact marks cleats marks and bat rack marks on the barrel. The handle of the bat has substantial pine tar residue some of which goes all the way up to the Rawlings Adirondack black label. The bat knob sports an applied L.A. Dodgers team logo with Kemp's uniform number "27" smack dab in the middle. Now a member of the San Diego Padres Kemp continues to swing a heavy bat.
