Metta World Peace (birth name Ron Artest) is truly one of the most unique individuals to ever play in the NBA. Whether or not you agree with his on and off-court behavior one thing is for sure: he will go down as one of the most tenacious and feared defenders in NBA history. Earlier in his career when he played for the Indiana Pacers and Sacramento Kings Artest could light up the scoreboard at around 18 points a night. By the time he arrived in Los Angeles to play alongside Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol Artest served as a key defensive stopper and enforcer who did whatever it took for his team to win. And the Lakers won their 2nd straight NBA title in his first season with the team. Before the 2011-12 season Artest officially change his name to Metta World Peace. He then became the first NBA player to wear the BALL'N shoe brand and featured here is a game-worn and signed pair from that season.

These black and purple low-top sneakers have no interior tagging but appear to come in a size 15 befitting of the 6'7" 260 forward. The BALL'N logo is labeled several places with "d30" on the heels to denote the d30TM technology of this particular model. They arephoto/style-matched to a March 9 2012 road win over the T-Wolves in which Metta tallied nine points and four rebounds. The insoles have been removed perhaps for his own othotics but they otherwise come as-issued displaying solid wear. Metta has signed the toe area of both shoes inshiny silver marker and added his uniform number "15".
