From Cardinals' great backstop Yadier Molina comes this marvelous game-worn road jersey and matching road pants from the 2010 season a simply stunning combo from one of baseball's best behind the dish. Molina was an All-Star and Gold Glove winner for the 2nd straight season in 2010 a streak that has continued through the 2015 season. The gray Majestic jersey shows excellent wear with heavy pilling in the shoulders and chest. The front has the two Red Birds' chenille embroidery atop a yellow bat along with "Cardinals" in red cursive lettering and Molina's No. 4 in red on navy tackle twill. The MLB logo patch appears on the back of the collar. On the reverse is "Molina" in block lettering above his No. 4 which has his signature in 8/10 black Sharpie and a MLB Authentication hologram sticker (HZ073740). The shirttail has Majestic tagging with "2010" and size "50" flag tags. What gives this jersey even more credibility is that a frayed yellow thread on one of the front Red Birds appears to match several game photos including April 19 & 25 May 4 and June 13. The matching Majestic 2010 road gray pants show incredible game use with severe pilling on the back thighs from squatting in the catcher position. "Molina 4 38-46 34 OB C '10 P1" in black stitching appears inside the rear waistband. The right back leg area got so worn down that it required a 4" by 5" team repair patch. The right knee also had a large hole that necessitated a team repair yet this patch is almost worn thin. There are two more team repairs on the lower right leg and heavy pilling down both legs. You can't get more authentic than this!
It should be noted that the MLB Authentication hologram only states that the jersey was autographed during a Feb. 24 2014 signing session and makes no reference to its game use. However noted uniform expert Dave Miedema in an included Letter of Authenticity attests to the obvious game use on both the jersey and pants. He reiterates that if MLB does not receive an item immediately after usage it cannot be labeled "game used" per their internal policy.
