Bob Bobby Knight nicknamed "The General is one of college basketballs most winningest coaches. He won 902 NCAA Division I men's college basketball games which was the most all-time at the time of his retirement and is currently second all-time behind just Dukes Mike Krzyzewski. Knight is best known as the head coach of the Indiana Hoosiers from 19712000 although he also had coaching stints at both Texas Tech (20012008) and Army (19651971). Presented here are two highly visual items both signed by the legendary hoops coach along with a number of his celebrity and/or athlete cronies as mementoes of the Coach Knight Roast & Toast event that was held on September 18 2010.
The first items is a multi-signed basketball. The unused full-sized Baden basketball has been signed on one white panel by Knight (in red marker rates 9) and on another by former players and peers including Isiah Thomas Daryl Thomas Digger Phelps Jay Bilas Jerry Colangelo Bob Hammel Don Donoher George Raveling Sam Carmichael Dan Chrisman and Gene Pingatore (all signatures were signed in black Sharpie and rate 9/10).
The second piece to this combination lot is a red multi-signed metal folding chair. The chair is emblazoned on its back rest with COACH KNIGHT Roast & Toast 9-18-10 and Knights signature in white paint pen (rates 9) beside the event logo. On the chair seat are 11 more signatures in white paint pen including Sam Carmichael Gene Pingatore Dan Chrisman Jerry Colangelo Bob Hammel Isiah Thomas George Raveling Daryl Thomas Digger Phelps Jay Bilas and Don Donoher (all signatures rate 8/10).
Includes PSA/DNA certifications for the basketball (#K76165) and the chair (#K76152).
