The 2009 Major League Baseball All-Star Game was the 80th mid-summer exhibition between the all stars of the American League and the National League. The game was held on July 14, 2009, at Busch Stadium in St. Louis, Missouri, the home of the St. Louis Cardinals. The game was the first all-star game held in St. Louis since 1966. This was the seventh year in which the All-Star Game determined home field advantage in the World Series, with the American League winning all seven games up to and including 2009 under this format. Newly-elected President Barack Obama threw out the first pitch and Carl Crawford of the Tampa Bay Rays earned the game's MVP award for helping the American League claim a 4-3 victory over the National League. The ring is made up of a faux diamond set into a red stone on the face, with "All Star Game 2009" in raised text around the perimeter. Left and right shanks feature logos of the All-Star Game and National League respectively. Gold-toned ring is stamped "Sterl" at interior band, which measures size 8 and weighs 28 grams. Mint condition. Offered here is a 2009 All-Star Game ring given to an employee from the St. Louis Cardinals front office.
