In 2009 playing their first season of baseball inside the recently built new Yankee Stadium the American League Champion New York Yankees (103-59) won their 27th World Series title after disposing of the National League Champion Philadelphia Phillies in six games in the Fall Classic. This lot features a game-used World Series baseball from that postseason matchup thats been signed in blue ink by the recently retired Yankees Team Captain Derek Jeter. As the proud owner of five World Series rings this particular marked Jeters last trip to baseballs biggest stage. The official Rawlings 2009 World Series Baseball (Selig) shows plenty of game usage and includes the special Fall Classic gold stamping as well as the 2009 World Series logo. Jeter signed the baseball just below the World Series logo.
