The 2008 Philadelphia Phillies finished the regular season with a record of record of 9270 first in the National League East. In the post-season the Phillies won the World Series marking the first major sports championship for Philadelphia since the 76ers swept the 1983 NBA Finals. It was also the first World Series title for the City of Brotherly Love since 1980.
There are 103 diamonds totaling 3.84 karats on the Phillies' 2008 World Series championship ring which is made of 14-karat white gold and crowned with a ruby inlay topped with the franchise's signature P. The 103 diamonds represent the 103 victories from 2008: 92 in the regular season and 11 in the postseason. The words "World Champions" are written along the ring's top and bottom outer rim. The left side of this 2008 World Series ring has the players name (Rosario) and number (48) atop and below the Liberty Bell. The right side of the ring has the World Series trophy rising out of Citizens Bank Park which is supposed to represent the support from the Phillies fans throughout the season. The right side of the ring also includes a "P" and "TB" for the Phillies and Tampa Bay with a "4" below the "P" representing the Phillies' four wins in the World Series and "1" below the "TB" representing the Rays' one win. Marked on the inside of the ring is 14K." The ring is size 9.5. Comes in original 4-inch-square polished red wood presentation box. All elements of the ring and accompanying display box appear to be as-issued and problem free.
