In 2010 Cavalier fans across Ohio burned LeBron James’ jersey in effigy when he “took his talents to South Beach.” Six years later those same haters are kissing the ground he walks on. Down 3-1 in the 2016 NBA Finals to the greatest regular season team ever LeBron not only fulfilled his destiny to “get one for the ‘Land” he did so in historic fashion. Other-worldly performances in three straight elimination games delivered Cleveland the elusive championship the city has longed for after 52 years of heartache.
Presented here is a marvelous pair of LeBron’s signature model Nike sneakers game-worn during his special 2008-09 campaign. That season James became the first Cavs player ever to win league MVP honors averaging 28.4 points 7.6 rebounds 7.2 assists 1.7 steals and 1.2 blocks to lead his team in every category (just the 4th player ever to do so post-merger). Cleveland finished a franchise-best 66–16 before falling to the Magic in the Eastern Conference Finals. Game photos indicate that James wore these Nike Zoom ‘LeBron VI’ shoes in the navy and white colorways throughout the 2008-09 season on the road with the Cavs’ navy alternate uniforms .
The 6th edition of LeBron's signature model Nike sneaker is beautifully designed with an extra ankle support section a flexible navy heel strap and a white lower foot strap and toe panel addition. The navy blue suede uppers and pleated midsoles along with a checkered pattern on the back heel outsoles and insoles give it an eye-catching appeal inside and out. “LBJ” is stamped on each heel and the clever “LB23” logo appears on each outer ankle collar. “The Six” and a lion figure to symbolize “King James” adorns each outer tongue. “50-10-8” is stamped on the inner tongue layer to honor LeBron’s incredible 50-point 10-assist 8-rebound performance March 8 2008 against the Knicks at the Garden the previous season. Original white laces are present. The interior tagging indicates size 16 with “SEASON H008” and “PROMO SAMPLE 081111” labels verifying a 11/11/08 manufacturing date and player-issued status.
The shoes exhibit solid wear overall with stretching on the white leather exterior appropriate heel drag and sweat staining on the insoles. LeBron has signed the right shoe in 9/10 black marker. The left shoe is personalized “To Rachel & Noah” leading us to believe these were originally given to a personal friend or gifted for a charity function. Awesome pair of LeBron gamers offered publicly for the first time.
