On October 27 2006 playing at home in Game 5 of the World Series the St. Louis Cardinals closed out the American League Champion Detroit Tigers 4-2. After splitting the first two game of the series in Motown the teams traveled to Busch Stadium where the Cards caught fire and won their 10th Fall Classic and the franchises first since 1982. The MVP of the World Series was Cardinals feisty shortstop David Eckstein who played flawlessly in the field and batted .364 at the plate with three doubles and four runs batted in. It was a magnificent end to the Cardinals first season in new Busch Stadium a regular-season campaign that produced an 83-78 record. The jubilation and exchanged tributes endured throughout the winter and spring culminating with the presentation of World Series rings to the players selected executives and elite Cardinals dignitaries.

Crafted by Intergold Limited (of Calgary) the base material of the ring is 10K gold stamped as such in the band. The size 12.5 ring remains in perfect original condition as issued in its custom 7.5-inch by 6.5-inch presentation box with the St. Louis Cardinals logo embedded on the top positioned just above the words: WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS 2006." A crowning achievement for a team that never gave up.
