The Los Angeles Lakers traded Shaquille ONeal to the Miami Heat in 2004 after a successful yet challenging eight-year ride that included three consecutive NBA titles (2000 01 and 02) to go along with consistent feuding with teammate Kobe Bryant. Heat President of basketball Operations Pat Riley and company were elated to unite the most dominant center in the game with their young shooting guard and rising star Dwyane Wade. After one season of gelling Shaq Diesel and D-Wade proved to be the perfect match in 2005-06 as they led the Heat to the franchises first ever championship. Another important piece to Miamis recipe for success that season came in the form of 6 8 James Posey. The sixth-year shooting guard played his first of two seasons in South Beach and averaged 7.2 points and 4.8 rebounds per game to help fuel the Heats charge.
This 2006 Miami Heat World Championship ring was issued to Poseys father James Posey Sr. The 14-karat white gold ring holds over 150 individually cut diamonds (approx. 6 carats total) spread out beautifully on the face and each flank. On the face is a diamond-studded basketball above a hoop and floor combo design this all laid out over a gorgeous Onyx stone. The perimeter of the face has a diamond-studded pattern spelling out WORLD CHAMPIONS and another layer of diamonds in unison just below it. One shank has POSEY 15 STRONG and FAITH plus the year 2006 with a diamond-studded crown in the middle. The other flank has the team name NBA logo FAMILY and a diamond-studded Heat logo in the middle. The name James Posey Sr. in lovely cursive and JOSTENS 14K are engraved inside the band. Rig size is 8 ¾. The ring shows minimal wear but remains in near pristine condition. The original black wooden presentation box boasts MIAMI HEAT the HEAT team logo and 2005-06 NBA CHAMPIONS across the middle.
