Albert Pujols spent his first 11 MLB seasons in the St. Louis Cardinals organization and built a league-wide reputation as a power hitter who routinely launched moon shot home runs. From his rookie season of2001 to 2011 Pujols hit a total of 435 home runs and knocked in an average of 120.8 runs per season. This lot features his autographed and game-worn St. Louis Cardinals cap from the team’s 2006 World Series championship campaign when the team disposed of the A.L. Champion Detroit Tigers in five games in the Fall Classic.The red Authentic Collection New Era cap (size 7 ¼) shows moderate game use and includes Pujols’ uniform number “5” in black marker on the center of the underside of the brim. Some wear of the inside liner isevident due to his perspiration. The front of the cap is sporting the Cardinals’ “STL” logo embroidered in white which shows slight discoloration and fading to red. The burly first baseman has signed the top side of the brim in black marker. His signature rates a solid 9/10 in our book.
