Offered here is a 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup jersey worn by Brazil forward, Robinho. A regular call-up to the National Team for 15 years (2003-17), Robson de Souza, better known as Robinho, has 100 career caps and 28 goals for Seleção. The 2005 FIFA Confederations Cup, hosted in Germany from June 15-29, was the seventh edition of the tournament and served as a prelude to 2006 World Cup. Just as they had at the 2002 FIFA World Cup, Brazil won the 2005 Confed Cup, defeating archrival Argentina, 4–1, in the final at the Waldstadion in Frankfurt. A rematch of the 2004 Copa América final, also won by Brazil, it was Brazil's second Confederations Cup title. Robinho and Adriano served as Brazil’s two starting strikers during the tournament, with the former scoring twice and the latter netting five goals to win Best Player.

The yellow and green-piped Brazil shirt is properly tagged by Nike (size Large) with the CBF [Brazil Football Confederation] emblem on the upper chest, and Robinho’s No. 7 front and back in green. His name is spelled out in yellow letters across a green arched strip on the upper back. The shirt exhibits strong evidence of use, with puckering to the Nike logo and numbers, plus some light cracking to the back letters. In addition, the black and white 2005 Confederations Cup Germany patch on the right sleeve is heavily worn with signs of perspiration and soiling. The notarized letter of provenance from a Brazilian collector included with this lot states that Robinho wore this shirt against Germany in the semifinals. However, we were unable to make a conclusive photo-match to any one game. Then again, the non-descript style of soccer shirts produced by Nike for players in that era makes the photo-matching process incredibly difficult.
