Retired major league catcher Ivan Rodriguez played a total of 21 years in the majors and closed out his prolific playing days with a career batting average of .296 311 home runs and 1332 runs batted in. He was also a 14-time All-Star selection a 13-time Gold Glove award winner and an American League MVP in 1999. This lot boasts Pudges 2005 Detroit Tigers game-worn road jersey (size 46). Affixed beneath the Majestic manufacturers tag is a white sewn-on strip tag with "7 46 '05 194" in black which standouts out on the 100% polyester grey road jersey. A washing instructions tag is on the inside inseam. Detroit appears across the front in angled script black orange and white tackle twill with Rodriguez's No. 7 front and back and his name arched across the back in the same fashion. The iconic MLB logo is at the back of the collar. Since Detroits Comerica Park hosted that seasons MLB All-Star Game a specially embroidered patch appears on the right sleeve reading MLB All STAR GAME 2005. Jersey shows light game use and is essentially problem-free and without alteration of any kind. This is a very desirable jersey of one of the greatest backstops in history who should be a shoo-in to Cooperstown in 2017.
