The 2004 Boston Red Sox ended 86 years of frustration by winning the franchise's first World Series championship since 1918. After rallying from a three-games-to-none deficit to defeat the Yankees in the ALCS, the Red Sox swept the St. Louis Cardinals in the World Series. Manny Ramirez hit .412 in the Fall Classic and was named World Series MVP.

This Red Sox home jersey comes from that historic season. The white jersey features "Red Sox" in red tackle twill across the chest with navy trim, and the number "24" on the back. In keeping with Red Sox tradition, there is no nameplate on the home jersey. Accurate Russell Athletic tagging on the left front tail indicates the "2004" season and Manny's size 54 (he preferred huge, baggy jerseys), along with a "+3" sleeve length notation. Ramirez has signed the jersey in blue marker near the collar with "24" inscribed. The jersey shows light to moderate wear and was displayed for many years in the Newport Sports Museum, a highly-respected collection of sports collectibles in Newport Beach, CA. It was sold by SCP in 2014 during one of the three-stage auctions of the NSM Collection from 2014 to 2015.

Ramirez was one of the most feared right-handed hitters of his generation. Over 19 seasons he hit 555 home runs, collected 1,831 RBI and posted a .312 lifetime average, and he was named to 12 All-Star teams. He won the 2002 AL batting title and led the league in home runs in 2004. A wonderful signed and inscribed jersey from one of the most memorable seasons in baseball history.
