Hideki Matsui broke a barrier of sorts when he became the first slugger from Japan to have a successful Major League career. Matsui hit 140 home runs and compiled an .852 OPS in seven years with the Yankees. Known as a clutch hitter and run producer, he averaged 85 RBI with the Yankees and was named Most Valuable Player of the 2009 World Series. This lot features Hideki Matsui’s game worn Yankees home jersey from 2004 when the left-handed masher hit .298 with a career high 31 home runs and 108 RBI’s in his second All-Star campaign. The authentic pinstripe jersey features the iconic NY logo on the front and Hideki’s “55” on the back. The size 48 (+2 Extra Length) Russell Authentic Collection jersey has a "2004" year tag and shows moderate wear and no alterations or modifications.
