The 2004 Ryder Cup was the 35th playing of the matches and took place at Oakland Hills Country Club in Bloomfield Township, Michigan. The United States team featured superstars Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson, while Team Europe fielded players like Pádraig Harrington, Sergio Garcia, and Lee Westwood. The European team won the competition by a margin of 18 1⁄2 to 9 1⁄2 points, the largest by a European team in the history of the event.
Offered here is a 2004 Ryder Cup Captain's ring made of 14-karat gold and issued to Team USA's captain Hal Sutton. The face features a genuine diamond center stone set in a blue stone with the words "RYDER CUP CAPTAIN" encircling it. One shank has the last name "SUTTON" above the Ryder Cup trophy. The other features "2004," "Oakland Hills" and the American Flag. Inside the band is stamped "14K." The size 10 ring weighs 30 grams.
