Like 2001, this 2003 ALCS Champions ring marks a Yankees' World Series runner-up finish, this time against the Florida Marlins in a seven-game series that again came down to a fateful final game managed by the Yankees with a World Series title tantalizingly within reach. Josh Beckett's complete game shutout in Game 6 denied the Yankees what would have been a storybook ending.
This ring, presented to the team doctor with original presentation box, is crafted from 14-karat gold. The face of the ring features the Yankees secondary logo against a sea of diamonds, and is encircled by the words "YANKEES AMERICAN LEAGUE CHAMPIONS." One shank has "2003," the Yankees logo, "1903-2003," and "TRADITION." The other bears the last name "BOYER," along with the iconic interlocking "NY" set against a backdrop of old Yankee Stadium. The size 11 ring weighs 47.42 grams.
