The brief career of fireballing righthander Mark Prior was extraordinarily bittersweet with emphasis perhaps to the former as the hopes for a Chicago Cub ace were dashed after but five seasons due to recurring injuries and several attendant surgeries. This Jersey was worn in 2003 as an alternate navy blue jersey and features the Cubs insignia patch upon the left breast with Prior's No. 22 appearing on the reverse. "Prior" is lettered on the reverse with all letters and numbers in red with white trim tackle twill. A "National League" patch appears on the left sleeve situated on the left front tail are both a "Majestic Authentic Collection" label and a "50" size tag. "22 50 03 S2" (denoting the number size year and set No. respectively) is stitched in white upon a blue tag in the collar. The jersey which is original and unaltered displays light to moderate game wear and is problem free. Mark has signed the jersey on the first "2" in white tip felt pen and added '03. The signature would rate a 9-10/10.
Also included in this lot are a pair of blue Adidas game worn spikes. The shoes show signs of heavy game use with plenty of scuffs and scratches as well as infield dirt to testify to their game use authenticity. Mark has signed the right side of the heal in silver felt tip pen and added the number "22" and "2003". Very nice signature and would again rate a 9-10/10.
