Hall of Famer Junior Seau was one of the greatest middle linebackers in history. After 13 outstanding seasons in San Diego Seau joined the Miami Dolphins in 2003 and at the age of 34 continued to inflict punishment to the chagrin of his opponents. He tallied 96 tackles to go along with three sacks and three forced fumbles in 15 games for the 10-6 Dolphins that year. Presented here is Seau's game worn road jersey from his first campaign in South Florida. Pounded with use it has been professionally photo-matched by the experts at Resolution Photomatching to three games. In the Sept. 7 2003 season opener vs. Houston Seau had seven tackles in a 21-20 loss. The next week against the Jets he recorded five tackles in a 21-10 win. Two weeks later on Oct. 5 Junior had his best game of the season accumulating 13 tackles (11 solo) and two for a loss as the Fins beat the Giants 23-10.
The white knit and mesh combo jersey has "SEAU' in aqua on orange tackle twill lettering across a white nameplate on the back. His large No. "55" sewn on the front and back appears in aqua outlined in orange and shadowed in navy blue. A smaller "55" in the same format appears on each shoulder along with the Reebok and Dolphin team logo patches. NFL Equipment and "Dolphins" patches are sewn below the front collar with "03-48" [year & size] sewn inside the back collar above the NFL and PSA/DNA authentication sticker. The shirttail has a customized elastic hem fit to Seau's liking. The jersey displays heavy wear with several paint transfers and scuff marks on the front back and shoulders and noticeable staining/soiling throughout. This is easily one of the better Seau gamers you will find in the hobby. RIP Junior.
