Mark Teixeira was drafted in 2001 by the Texas Rangers and made his MLB debut for them in 2003. In mid-2007 he was traded to the Atlanta Braves and traded again in mid-2008 to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim. In December 2008 he agreed to a contract with the New York Yankees. Teixeira has won five Gold Glove Awards and three Silver Slugger Awards. Teixeira also holds the all-time major league record for most games with a home run from both sides of the plate with 13.
The 2002 labeling period of this Mizuno model Pro Ltd Mark Teixeira professional model bat put its era of service at the dawn of the sluggers prolific career. It is uncracked and shows evidence of excellent use. Several ball marks and ball stitch impressions are visible on the right front and back barrel. Also visible on the bat are bat rack streaks and there is a light coat of Mota stick on the upper handle. Teixeira's number (23) is on the knob in silver marker.
